Alana Joli Abbott has been an editor for eighteen years, working on a variety of projects including biographies, news articles, reference books, role playing games, and fiction. At Outland, she has served as co-editor to anthologies, including Kaiju Rising II: Reign of Monsters.
Alana is the author of the novels Into the Reach, Departure,and Regaining Home, the interactive multiple choice novel apps Choice of Kung Fu, Showdown at Willow Creek, and Choice of the Pirate, and she has written for the comics including Cowboys and Aliens II and Ithaca. Her game writing has been featured in Steampunk Musha, the award winning Serenity Adventures, and Dungeon and Dragon magazines. Alana has visited ancient ruins around the world; sung madrigals semi-professionally; and earned her black belt in Shaolin Kempo Karate.

Jeffrey Edwards is a professional comic book artist originally from just outside of Kansas City Missouri. After graduating with a Masters Degree in Comic Book Illustration from The Acadmey of Art University in San Francisco, he landed his first published project creating comic book art to be used in a series of articles written for Australia’s pop-culture driven magazine called FilmInk.

I was born on Halloween night and spent my formative years on a commune in northern California’s backwoods. A childhood without television gave me a great love of books and the worlds I found in them. I wrote my first book, an adventure story starring my cat, at the age of seven. Sadly, that work is currently out of print, but see the Fiction page for current and upcoming publications. I am a longtime practitioner of Ashtanga yoga, have no tattoos, and live on Orcas Island, upper Washington state, with my husband, Mark Ferrari, along with seventeen twenty orchids*, baskets of interesting seashells, a frog pond, and slightly fewer books than this time last year.

Ian Stuart Sharpe likes to imagine he is descended from Guðrum, King of the East Angles, although DNA tests and a deep disdain for camping suggest otherwise. He is the author of two novels set in his alternate Vikingverse, the All Father Paradox and Loki’s Wager. As a child he discovered his love of books, sci-fi and sagas: devouring the works of Douglas Adams, J.R.R. Jonathan M. Thompson is an author, a trained historian and an amateur paleontologist. He has a house full of his first love, dinosaurs. His love of dinosaurs goes back from the age of eight. He collects books, memorabilia for several hobbies, including science fiction, anime, superheroes and gaming. For the last twenty years he has run the Ennie award winning small press role playing game publishing company, Battlefield Press International, and has co-written several settings for the Savage Worlds game engine, including the recent releases of Robotech Macross and The Dinosaur Protocol. A graduate of the Boston based Butera School of Art. I've freelanced as a professional illustrator going on twenty plus years. Working diligently with large and small companies and personal clients across America and abroad. Most of my work has focussed in the field of advertising (comps, tv boards). Though I've also done storyboards/keyframes for production houses and an animation studio. I've worked on the popular Marvel Comics license through Upper Deck trading cards as well as a Hasbro Transformers set.
